The history.....
When Andrew & Samantha first established The Long Table Restaurant more than seven years ago their vision was to create a unique dining experience that offered not only passionately produced food but an ambience that reflected their own personalities and their love for wine, food and art.
When they first discovered The Long Table Restaurant was for sale they had a six month old son, Lachlan and were running a cafe/catering business on the Mornington Peninsula so it was an ambitious undertaking to say the least to open a restaurant on top of these commitments.
They both fell in love with the feel of the place and its' hidden potential. It also held special memories of Samantha's own childhood growing up in Red Hill and visiting the very same place for sunday night buffets with her family.
After much deliberating and discussion, Andrew & Samantha finally took over The Long Table restaurant in 2003 and set about refurbishing the interior with much help from family and friends.
More than seven years later the restaurant has undergone an extensive renovation to include a sumptuous 30 seat wine bar and luxurious private dining room in addition to the welcoming dining room. Andrew & Samantha's family has also expanded to include a second son, Harrison and twins, Ashton & Isla who arrived in 2008. Needless to say life has become a hectic yet fun time for the whole family (especially the grandparents who help out endlessly with the energetic children).
With antique timber tables, velvet covered bentwood chairs, church pews and whimsical watercolours adorning the walls the feel is very much like entering Andrew & Samantha's own home. This welcoming feeling is enhanced by the restaurant's extended 'Family' who are the dedicated staff, local producers and vignerons who work together to make each restaurant experience memorable.

Wine Bar....
Open Wednesday-Friday from 5pm until late & weekends from midday until late, the wine lounge offers visitors a relaxed 'shared plate' style of dining alongside an extensive wine list and local Red Hill Brewery ale on tap. This is perfect for those doing a little cellar door 'hopping' in the region and working up a late afternoon appetite or for friends wanting to catch up for a glass of wine by the fireplace. Extended trading over summer and long weekends....

Open Wednesday-Sunday for dinner from 6pm & weekends for lunch from midday the restaurant has established a reputation both locally and further afield for being a unique food and wine experience.
